For our customers who desire to control their users via our User and Access Control API, we have introduced a new field called External ID. The External ID will be the third party User Identity system's unique Identifier and will be an attribute of all Command Users. If you are creating users from the API, an External ID will be a requirement during the creation process. If you already have all your users in Command and want to transition to controlling your users via the API, you will need to modify each user and add your desire External ID. An entire list of users can be obtained using the Get All Users endpoint in the access control section.
Examples of External IDs are:
- emails
- EmployeeID
- Third Party User System UUID
